Marc Marquez: See what super car the Spanish multi-champion won

The Spaniard won the fastest rider award for the eighth time in qualifying and left Valencia in a brand new 530 hp BMW M2 CS.
Marc Marquez continues to make MotoGP history by winning the BMW M Award, the annual prize given to the fastest rider in qualifying, for the eighth time. In 2025, the Spaniard not only dominated the races, mathematically securing the championship from Japan, but also collected the most qualifying points, despite missing the last four rounds of the year due to injury.

The winner’s prize was the all-new BMW M2 CS, the top-of-the-range version of BMW M’s compact sports car, with 530 hp, 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and extensive use of carbon fiber. The car was handed over to Marquez after qualifying at the season finale in Valencia by Dorna CEO Carmelo Espeleta and BMW M representative Axel Mittler.

Marquez collected 351 points in the BMW M Award, with eight pole positions and five more front row starts, a feat that no one has been able to match. Second place went to his brother, Alex Marquez, who also had the best season of his career in qualifying.

The Spanish champion joked on the sidelines of the awards ceremony that he found out he had won “while buying fruit” when Alex failed to get the result he needed in the previous race in Portimao. “I promised him I would let him drive the car,” he said with a smile, adding that his goal for 2026 is clear: “the championship and the BMW M Award again.”

The BMW M Award has been awarded since 2003 and is now an institution in MotoGP. The list of winners includes names such as Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, Fabio Quartararo, Sete Zimmernau and Nicky Hayden. With his eighth victory, Márquez extends his own all-time record.
